1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using crab.travel ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

crab.travel is a group trip coordination platform that helps groups plan travel together. Features include destination voting, group chat, availability tracking, AI-powered recommendations, and notifications.

3. Accounts

You sign in using Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. SMS/Text Messaging Terms

By opting in to SMS notifications, you consent to receive text messages from crab.travel related to activity on our platform. This is a recurring message program.

How you opt in

Users opt in to SMS/text messages through their account Profile page (login required). The opt-in process requires two deliberate actions:

1. Enter your phone number in the "Phone number" field
2. Check the SMS consent checkbox

The consent checkbox reads:

SMS is never enabled by default — users must take deliberate action to opt in. Users can opt out at any time by unchecking the box in their profile settings or by replying STOP to any message. Users may also opt in by texting START to (425) 600-2722.

What messages you'll receive

Once opted in, you may receive SMS/text messages including: trip chat messages from other group members, voting reminders, trip status updates, and booking confirmations.

We will not sell, rent, or share your phone number with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number is shared only with Twilio, our SMS delivery provider, for the sole purpose of delivering messages. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchase or use of the platform. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Send spam or unsolicited messages through our platform
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the service

6. Content

You retain ownership of content you post (messages, preferences, etc.). By using our service, you grant us a license to use, store, and display your content as needed to provide the service.

7. AI Features

Our service uses CrabAI to generate recommendations and suggestions. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee its accuracy. Always verify important details (pricing, availability, safety) independently.

8. Third-Party Services

Our service may link to or integrate with third-party services (Google, Pexels, YouTube, booking platforms). We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, crab.travel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
